| Fife Vintage Tractor Club Rally on
June 10th at Cortson Mill by
Strathmiglo |

|
We say this every year, but the Fife Club Rally gets bigger and better each time. This year just over 200 tractors attended the gathering at Corston Mill near Strathmiglo in Fife. This year the theme was Nuffield's 60th Anniversary and Peter Small and the rest of the organisers pulled out all the stops to bring the biggest ever gathering of Nuffields and Leylands seen at a Scottish rally. Parked up in a 60 formation, the show included early Nuffield models such as the M4 right through to the later Leyland and Marshall models.
The David Brown club also were out in force at this years rally with local David Brown enthusiasts, the Bells of Forgandenny bringing no less than 13 of their David Brown collection to Cortson Mill.A good mix of Fordsons, Fords, Fergusons and Massey Harris tractors along with a number of commercials, static engines and a Ransome Threshing Machine meant a great day out for all the visitors who attended this years rally. The Fife Club were supporting the Fife Riding for the Disabled charity who gave a demonstration of their carriage driving.

Fife's
finest were out in force at
the annual show at Kinloss
near Cupar with over 50 vintage
tractors on display. The vintage
tractor section has been growing
in popularity year by year
at the Fife Show and this
years event was no exception.
This year Alec brought along
a John Deere 6020 and a 1957
four wheel drive Roadless
Fordson Major. There was a
good variety of tractors on
show including George Melville's
Lanz Bulldog and many others
which can be seen on the picture
page. The Fife
Show also hosted the first
round of the Scottish Tractor
Pulling Championship which
was a real crowd puller for
many.
The
weekend also saw the Kelso
rally which saw a large number
of entrants and a good mix
of tractors and commercial
vehicles. The picture to the
left shows a line up of Nuffields
at the rally. |
